Alzheimer's Association

Today, the Alzheimer's Association is recieving the "Recommended by DeBarra Mayo" award.

The Alzheimer’s Association is the world leader in Alzheimer research and support. They are dedicated to finding prevention methods, treatments and a cure for Alzheimer’s.

Their mission, according to their website, "is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health."

The Alzheimer's Association has a toll free 24-hour helpline. They can provide you with reliable information, referrals and support in 140 languages.

I have called the helpline many times for guidance about my father, who was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's at age 62.

The helpline number is: 1-800-272-3900.

In addition, local chapters provide core services to families and professionals, including information and referral, support groups, care consultation.

I am highly impressed with this organization, and I am grateful for the help they have provided for me and my family.

The Alzheimer's Association gets a thumbs up and a wink from DeBarra Mayo. Congratulations and great work!
